Phoebe

Pheobe is a sweet and gentle girl who loves playing with people and other dogs. When she arrived at The Delta Humane Society she had just had a litter of puppies. While at DHS she was spayed and taught to walk on a leash. Pheobe was adopted by the Malone family. She now enjoys the love and attention of this family.

Bones

Bones has been one of DHS's great successes in 2012. He was rescued from slow starvation, brought back to health and eventually placed in a warm and loving home in Md. with the help of our rescue partner, DogsXL. His new mama Lisa makes a special effort to keep all of his Louisiana fans and family informed of his life with frequent emails and Face book posts. He is the kind of dog who touched everyone he met with his gentle and forgiving nature, from his savior, LaTrecia, who was brave enough to report his neglect, to the Rayville police who assisted in his rescue. Dr. Talley and her staff who cared for him in those first months fell in love with him and continue to cheer his happy moments and goofy antics. And he still has a legion of well wishers and supporters who donated to and encouraged him then and who remember and smile when we think of him and the good life he has now. Bone's story is truly what rescue means.

Boci

Boci was a tiny little thing and less than 5 weeks old when someone who found her wandering brought her to DHS. She was dehydratd and anemic but with a little care and cuddling, she was ready to head to Md. and Dachshund Rescue of North America. She was slated to be available for adoption but this little Cajun Queen, never made it out of her foster mama's house so now she lives happily ever after there with two other "low rider" siblings.

Daisy Mae

Dixie aka Daisy was abandoned in Columbia, La. and was wandering there for quite awhile before a kind lady named Jayme agreed to foster her for us until we could place her. She eventually came to the DHS foster farm and was slated to go to NY but an email changed all that. Daisy's eventual new mom, Dena, had lost her beautiful blue tick coonhound, also named Daisy to disease after a long fight. After speaking with her several times, we knew our Daisy was just right to heal Dena's heart. And Dena was just right to give Daisy the home she deserved. Well, it is a match made in heaven and we couldn't ask for better.

Isabella

Isabella lost her Louisiana home but went straight to foster in Md. and didn't get much farther. She is the proud owner of a Raven's fan for a dad now.
