Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.

DHS does not have a facility. All of our animals are housed in foster homes. Therefore, we require having a completed adoption application on file before we ask our foster families to rearrange their schedules for a meet and greet or answer individual inquiries. And, please be patient, we are staffed only by volunteers. It may be a few days before you hear from us.

Chloe is a playful girl and loves her toys.  She is around 1 1/2 - 2 years old. Spayed, Heartworm negative and UTD on her vaccinations. She was abandoned with a fracture in her front right leg. It has had surgery and she has a metal plate in it. She has full use of the leg but can't bend at her wrist. She occasionally limps slightly, but doesn't seem to be painful. Over time she shouldn't have any limp at all. Our vet says there is a slim chance that the plate may need to be removed one day if it begins to bother her.
She does well in her kennel. She is a bit of a busy body. As long as she has a toy to play with she is good!  She walks well on the leash. She walks well beside you off the leash. Does well with other dogs & cats. She has beautiful cat like eyes!

More about Chloe

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

All of our adoptable pets are housed with foster families. When age appropriate, they have been spay/neutered, crate, leash and house trained. They have all been living in a family environment so have been evaluated for temperament and personality. We believe that we should know each pet well enough to make sure that when adopted, everyone lives happily ever after.
Since all of our animals are housed with fosters, we ask that you submit a completed application before  we answer individual inquiries. Submitting an application never obligates you to adopt but we will have a better understanding of your needs so that we can better answer your questions.
