DHS does not have a facility. All of our animals are housed in foster homes. Therefore, we require having a completed adoption application on file before we ask our foster families to rearrange their schedules for a meet and greet or answer individual inquiries. And, please be patient, we are staffed only by volunteers. It may be a few days before you hear from us.

Missy is a 4 to 5 yr old sweetie that looks like a teeny little Sheltie.   She weighs 9 lbs. She is a very sweet girl but a little shy at first.  After she warms up she gives lots of love and kisses. She can be a little possessive about her food with other dogs.   Missy  gets along very well with children and other animals (even cats).. except when eating. Missy just wants to be a cuddle bug and your shadow. She would love a quieter home where she could be the center of attention.

More about Missy

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

All of our adoptable pets are housed with foster families. When age appropriate, they have been spay/neutered, crate, leash and house trained. They have all been living in a family environment so have been evaluated for temperament and personality. We believe that we should know each pet well enough to make sure that when adopted, everyone lives happily ever after.
Since all of our animals are housed with fosters, we ask that you submit a completed application before  we answer individual inquiries. Submitting an application never obligates you to adopt but we will have a better understanding of your needs so that we can better answer your questions.
