DHS does not have a facility. All of our animals are housed in foster homes. Therefore, we require having a completed adoption application on file before we ask our foster families to rearrange their schedules for a meet and greet or answer individual inquiries. And, please be patient, we are staffed only by volunteers. It may be a few days before you hear from us.
Lasses is a happy, happy puppy. He is healthy and beautiful. He is way over the top with energy right now but will start to settle soon. He just needs a little structure and socialization. Right now. he can't decide what to do next and his two choices are always eat or play. He is a wonderful fawn color with the black markings around his mouth and just a smidgen of white on his chest and tail that makes us think there is something other than Black Mouth Cur in his family. Lasses should grow up to be a smart, devoted family companion.

All of our adoptable pets are housed with foster families. When age appropriate, they have been spay/neutered, crate, leash and house trained. They have all been living in a family environment so have been evaluated for temperament and personality. We believe that we should know each pet well enough to make sure that when adopted, everyone lives happily ever after.
