DHS does not have a facility. All of our animals are housed in foster homes. Therefore, we require having a completed adoption application on file before we ask our foster families to rearrange their schedules for a meet and greet or answer individual inquiries. And, please be patient, we are staffed only by volunteers. It may be a few days before you hear from us.

Ginger was found along the interstate during the night. She had been hit by a car. The kind trucker who rescued her left her at a local truck stop as he had to keep his schedule. The next morning, the staff contacted us and we have helped her recover from her injuries. She is healthy now and is looking for a family to love and care for her enough that she will always be safe and happy.
Ginger is perfectly behaved and walks well on a leash. She is house trained and has impeccable manners. She would make a great companion for any kind of family or adult.
Ginger is a "happy talker" and gurgles, growls, yips and yodels when she greets you. Then she settles down and is content to watch or join in whatever the family is doing. All this cute little lady wants is to be near her family.

More about Ginger

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

All of our adoptable pets are housed with foster families. When age appropriate, they have been spay/neutered, crate, leash and house trained. They have all been living in a family environment so have been evaluated for temperament and personality. We believe that we should know each pet well enough to make sure that when adopted, everyone lives happily ever after.
Since all of our animals are housed with fosters, we ask that you submit a completed application before  we answer individual inquiries. Submitting an application never obligates you to adopt but we will have a better understanding of your needs so that we can better answer your questions.
