All of our adoptable pets are housed with foster families. When age appropriate, they have been spay/neutered, crate, leash and house trained. They have all been living in a family environment so have been evaluated for temperament and personality. We believe that we should know each pet well enough to make sure that when adopted, everyone lives happily ever after.
Holly is a sweet, happy Pittie mix girl. She is about 2 yrs old. She loves most other dogs, cats and people but sometimes has issues with other females. Holly has been spayed but is a slight heart worm positive. She is on heart worm preventative and will eventually be heart worm negative. Holly weighs about 30 lbs and has a beautiful shiny coat. She is house trained, walks fairly well on a leash and loves her crate. She is very high energy when she first gets out of her crate and runs zoomies but settles down after a little exercise and wants to be a couch potato.
The DHS organized in November 2008 to care for the unwanted and neglected animals of Northeastern Louisiana. We are funded only by donations. We ARE making a difference but we still have a LOT to do....
